Inserting a Saalt DiscUpdated a year ago
We're so glad you're giving a Saalt Disc a try! Insertion can take some time to get the hang of, but we have some tips to help:
- First, relax and get in a comfortable position! We recommend sitting on the toilet or squatting in the shower; water-based lubricant can help slide the disc in a little easier.
- Pinch the middle of the disc to form a figure 8 shape
- Next, insert your disc at a horizontal angle, pointing toward your tailbone. When your disc is halfway inserted, try pointing it slightly downward as your continue to push it in to help position it correctly.
- If you're having trouble keeping your disc folded, try folding it with one hand while using your other hand to gently push it in
- When your disc is inserted, use your index finger or thumb to push up on the rim of the disc and secure it behind your pubic bone.
It may take some practice to find your best insertion technique, so keep trying small adjustments until you find what works best for you!
It's totally normal for the disc to not open all the way and remain a little crumpled. This just means it has opened to match the natural shape of your vaginal fornix.
